Confederations Cup 2013 is held in Brazil

The city of Fortaleza will soon be getting worldwide attention for its hosting of the Confederations Cup 2013. The federal 
state Ceará was given two national holidays in connection with the match against Mexico on 19th of June and the 
semi-final on 27th of June, which will be played in Castelão Stadium in Fortaleza.
Confederations Cup 2013 will be the 9th edition of the international football tournament, which is a rehearsal for the 
World Cup in 2014. The tournament will bring together eight countries, champions from each of the continental 
federations as well as the world champions and the host nation.
Confederations Cup 2013 will take place in six different federal states in Brazil: Ceará, Minas Gerais, Brasilia, 
Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro e Bahia. The semi-final is scheduled to be played in Fortaleza and in Minas Gerais, and 
the finals in Rio de Janeiro on 30th of June. It is a national holiday throughout Brazil, when the Brazilian national 
team plays a match.
