Brazilian consumer confidence increases
Expectation of political definition boosts index
The Getulio Vargas Foundation index of consumer confidence in Brazil increased to 79.3 in August from 76.7 in the previous month to reach its highest level since January 2015. The growth is aligned with the expectation of a political definition, as the trial of president Dilma Roussef, which started on the 25th of August, is expected to finish within one week, when it will be known if she remains in power or if interim president will officially take over.
